Areas of Practice
Fox Advocacy in Education, LLC, provides Educational Advocacy to families. This means we support a student’s connection to resources to which they may be entitled by law. The most common focus is appropriate supports within Special Education. But your focus may begin with your child’s connection to interventions prior to a referral to Special Education. Or exploring if your child should be identified as a student with a disability by their school (Child Find). In all paths, we provide Educational Advocacy starting where you need us to start.
Whether or not your child will seek a high school diploma, planning for what comes next is critical. We help you make sure your student is given appropriate transitional assessments, programming and connections, beginning years before graduation. We intend for you and your student to be prepared for life after high school.
Transition
504 Plans and IEPs become the road map for your child’s access to their education and that specialized instruction that your child needs. Our expertise allows us to analyze your child’s educational plan, help you to understand it, and develop an effective strategy to strengthen it.
504 Plans and IEPs
We use knowledge of progress monitoring tools in schools, as well as informal and formal evaluations, to analyze student progress and determine if your child is making the appropriately ambitious progress they should. Or, going back to the beginning, if they should be identified as a student with a disability as part of your school’s mandated “Child Find.”
Student Progress Monitoring
When children fail to thrive in school, the school may enact Response To Intervention (RTI) programs (sometimes called MTSS) to try and get your child on track. Sometimes this system stalls, leaving students “stuck” and not connected to the supports they need, and may be entitled to, under the law. We help you to understand this process and to advocate for your child’s connection to appropriate services.
Response to Intervention
Your child is unique with needs individual to them. As a parent, you also are unique. Our goal is to provide advocacy services you need in the manner that works best for you and your family. Whether you wish a simple consultation or full representation, we offer services on a continuum so you can determine the amount and cost of services that are right for you. To meet this objective, we offer a FREE initial consultation. This means getting to know each other is risk-free. Should you decide to move forward, services are provided on a sliding scale.*
*Because our sliding scale ranges are updated periodically, we prefer to review them with you during your FREE consultation. But, know that if you would like to know our current sliding scale range even before your FREE consultation, just call or email us. We will be happy to share our current range.
